April Kelly is an Austin-based illustrator and graphic designer whose career began at age 3 when she first grabbed her grandmother's cookie tin of crayons. She went on to formalize her education by studying illustration at the Pratt Institute, drawing with the late David J. Passalacqua, and later the Dalvero Academy. April is inspired by her love of the outdoors, and enjoys drawing and painting with anything she can get her hands on, including mud, sticks, and feathers. After 2 decades in New York, she recently became a Lone Star, making the move to Texas in 2014. April currently lives in South Austin with a design support staff that includes 2 dogs, a cat, and 3 low-flying cockatiels.
